The CEO’S Journal: Entry 4- I've Been BUSY!

Hey guys. It’s been awhile since my last post and for that I apologize! Things have been hectic to say the least. Since my last post I’ve been organizing a huge video project, preparing a new product, collaborating with a local business as well as organized two pop up shops. As I said, things have been hectic. But I’ll fill you guys in a bit more about each of the projects I just named!

The Video Project

The team and I have been working with videographer, Joseph Kisusi, on a huge video project. This project will feature a lot of Team Elevate’s members as well as a lot of our new products. I am beyond excited about it and my plan right now is to wait until our newest product is ready for launch before releasing the video. I have zero doubt that you guys are absolutely going to LOVE it.

The New Product

If you guys have been keeping up with the @Elevate_Canada Instagram story you will know how excited I am to release this product. I usually keep quiet about new product ideas until they are ready to launch but with this one I just can’t help but mention it on a regular basis. I am certain that this is going to become our best-seller and I have some big plans for this product. Why am I so sure of this mystery item? Because it has been created completely based on YOUR input. We’ve been collecting data and comments over the past few months and have put it all together. I say it all the time that we’re the company that we are today because of all of your support and input and this product is going to be the perfect representation of that. I am working as fast as I possibly can to get it out there but you know what they say; You can’t rush greatness.

Collaborating with Local Businesses

St. John’s is home to a lot of kind, talented and intelligent people and business owners. I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan Power, the owner of the Power Conditioning fitness studio. Ryan is an extremely humble and personable guy and we clicked immediately. After our meeting it was clear to both of us that we could help each other, as well as the community a lot by working together.

The Pop Up Shops

The past two weeks we held pop up shops at sneaker store, Legend City and then held another one at ETC Gift Studio in downtown St. John’s. The Legend City pop up shop was amazing. It was surreal to see my apparel on all of the racks and shelves and I kept thinking to myself “wow this is really starting to happen.” On top of that, I just so happened to hold the pop up shop on the same day that rappers Mad Child and Nasty decided to visit Legend City. One thing that I was completely blown away by was how kind and humble these two very well-known artists were. They greeted me as soon as they walked into the store and didn’t hesitate to tell me how much they loved the apparel. And that’s how I want to be when Elevate really starts taking off. I may not remember the name or face of every person I meet, but I will ALWAYS strive to have a positive impact on every person that I interact with. So thank you Mad Child and Nasty for continuing to be down to earth and kind people despite your fame. I aspire to always carry myself in the same manner.

The ETC Gift Studio Pop Up Shop was successful as well. Sales weren’t nearly as large as the Legend City pop up shop, but I was able to learn some important lessons there as well as continue to improve my social skills. I still laugh sometimes when I think about how shy I used to be and how afraid I was of speaking to people I didn’t know. But now, I’ve almost completely shaken that shyness and I’ve actually become really good at interacting and connecting with people. Also, an older woman approached me just to tell me how handsome she thought I was so that alone makes that pop up shop a huge success (lol).

So as you can see, I’ve really been keeping myself busy lately. But still, that is no excuse and I need to stay consistent in updating you guys on a regular basis. I’ll do better going forward. Thank you so much for reading! Check me out on Instagram: @DedicatedAustin
