The CEO's Journal- Entry 9: It's Surreal

The pop up shops this past weekend were absolutely incredible! We had the honour of setting up at Gonzaga High School and Mount Pearl Senior High and were completely stunned at the support we received. I can hardly believe how eager people are to continue supporting our movement.

Although Elevate has come such a long way, some things are still so surreal to me. For example, this weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a charismatic young athlete on the Gonzaga girl’s basketball team named Leah Gladney. While speaking to Leah, she casually mentioned that she followed the Instagram page. When I informed her that I would certainly follow her back, Leah freaked out and started running around, dancing and celebrating that “THE” Elevate account had followed her. I couldn’t believe it. I never would have thought that one day an Instagram follow from Elevate would mean so much to someone.

In addition to that, the entire Corner Brook senior girls team lined up to purchase Elevate apparel. To think that a talented group of girls from the other side of the province would want to represent us is amazing to me. But I guess that just shows the impact that Elevate is having on people. It shows that people really believe in us and are behind what we’re all about. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. We will continue doing what we can to make you all proud.

P.S Congratulations to the Holy Heart boys and girls basketball teams for both bringing home championship banners this weekend. Both teams are incredible and it was an absolute pleasure watching them play some beautiful team basketball.
